Get To Know Durban

Durban, is a leading South African Tourist destination.

Durban is a modern vibrant cosmopolitan city and its lifestyle, architecture and culture reflect and thrive on its warm sub-tropical climate.

The city had a major makeover leading up to the 2010 World Cup, with a sleek new stadium and a revamped waterfront. The renewal of the promenade and the sweeping away of the old sleaze has given municipal authorities new confidence and ambition, which you can see in the development projects all over the city.

Home to the largest concentration of people of Indian descent outside of India, Durban also boasts an unmistakeably Asian feel, with the marketplaces and streets of the Indian area replete with the sights, sounds and scents of the subcontinent.

The strategic focus of Durban Tourism is to drive tourism and make it a key contributor to the local economy, thereby promoting economic upliftment for all its communities

WHEN TO TRAVEL

Best Time To Visit Durban

Durban experiences a typical tropical humid climate with hot humid summers and warm dry winters.

While summers are from December to March, the city also receives a good amount of rainfall during this period. The winter months from June to August are the best season to visit Durban as the temperature is low and the rains are a rarity but because of Christmas and New Year Holidays, the tickets are comparatively expensive during December.
