travellers, who have come back from a vacation

If you are one of those who loves to travel extensively; it seems that your travel wish list grows even longer & your comfort level of venturing into new off-beaten places expands even more.

So when you meet someone with a post-trip glow, do you tend to ask “How was your trip on flights to Nairobi from UK?” or “What was your favourite part?”?

Instead, do ask something which is not so obvious or not available on the Instagram posts. Ask something which actually means, “Should I go too?” Some questions which you must ask are:-

  1. What super-touristy thing did you do was surprisingly awesome?
  2. What did you do for transportation-buses, trains or flights? Do you prefer to walk, take public transport or private transport?
  3. What did you pack that came in handy (gadgets)? What do you wish you packed with you on flights to Johannesburg from London?
  4. What did you wish you knew, before you even booked your flight? Any frustrations on your trip?
  5. What surprised you the most? Any cultural norms necessary to be known before visiting? Which are the words and phrases to be known?
  6. What is difference in food habits? Which food is a must-try or to be avoided? Wine or beer? Coffee or tea? Street-food?
  7. Most enjoyable/relaxing part of the journey? Anyplace that could be avoided? Any off-beat sites to visit? Any super beautiful places to spend time in taking pics?
  8. Anything speciality that can be bought from that place, not found elsewhere? Was it easy to find and buy common things you needed along the way?
  9. Was the currency exchange easily done after flights to Los Angeles from London?
  10. Did you go alone or with your significant other or in a group of friends or with your family?
  11. What advice would you give to anyone going for the first time? Would you like to visit it once more?
  12. Which websites would you suggest will be helpful for booking?
  13. Anything else that should be known/taken before going to the place?

Either you bug down the travel-returned person with so many questions or just ask him-“Which travel agent were you associated with?”

The travel agent will clear all your doubts.Ask the agent:-

  • Will they provide you with a guidance, perfect itinerary, mention the budget?
  • Are they reliable?
  • Are they associated with Travel Trust Association?
  • Will they book accommodations, transfers, other than booking cheap flights to Atlanta from UK?
  • Are their UI easy to use?
  • Do they offer round the clock assistance?
  • Do they make hassle-free cancellations?
  • Do they have locals employed there for a safe trip?
  • Will the trip be safe, convenient, comfortable and on a budget; other than being fun and enjoyable?

Of course, a traveller who visits many places around the globe around the year will be more than happy to answer queries like:-

  1. Which piece of travel advice is not actually true?
  2. Which things makes traveling the most convenient?
  3. Which is the most interesting item of food he/she enjoyed?
  4. Which is the best time to travel?
  5. Which is the best place to travel?
  6. Which are the currencies he/she has collected?
  7. What are the memoirs that he/she has collected?
  8. How many foreign languages (fragments, of course) can he/she speak?
  9. Which country makes the best tea/coffee?
  10. How is he documenting the trips?
  11. Which is the weirdest thing he/she has seen?
  12. What is his/her favourite place so far?

A travel agent should be well travelled to be able to guide travellers on the trillions of doubts one has about trips; with their first-hand knowledge & experience.
